When security is paramount, there are no standard solutions

DAN-doors specializes in developing and delivering tailor-made doors for buildings where functionality and personal safety are crucial and where there is no room for error.

Over the years, we have worked closely with architects to develop security solutions that are tailored to their function, taking into account usage, operation and architecture.

Safety in every detail
For a psychiatric institution with extremely dangerous patients, we have specially developed door systems for patient rooms with very high safety requirements for both patients and staff.

Fire and security doors
The doors for the patient rooms are produced as both fire doors and security doors of very high quality steel. The doors are produced with an _EI2120fire classification and the hatches are produced with an _EI260fire classification. All doors and hatches are equipped with safety locks in both the door and hatch, and behind the hatch there is safety glass with holes to allow risk-free communication with the patient without direct contact. There are also 2 door spies installed.

The doors are equipped with several steel angles on the sides. These are molded into the wall to ensure that the doors are held in place should the patient push or kick them.

To eliminate the risk of self-injury, the frames are curved and the mounting holes are hidden under a welded-on curved counter frame. This makes it possible to avoid the use of tire plugs that patients could put in their mouths.

Automatic sliding gates with access control
Stainless steel automatic sliding gates have been installed between the patient rooms and bathrooms. Again, with a focus on safety for both patients and staff, the sliding doors run between two walls with the track fully integrated and hidden between the walls. The doors are equipped with an automatic lock that is operated from the outside, allowing controlled access to the room.

The sliding doors have ventilation grilles, which are perforated plates on the front and with removable plates on the back. This feature was necessary to make it possible to clean the inside of the sliding doors in case patients put something in the holes.
