DAN-doors' former owner Nils Nygaard has passed away

DAN-doors' former owner and board member, Nils Nygaard, passed away on February 10, 2025.

Nils leaves an indelible mark on DAN-doors A/S and in the hearts of all who knew him. As owner and board member, he not only helped create DAN-doors' success, but he was also an inspiring and caring person who always put employees first.

Nils' journey with DAN-doors began in 2008 when, in connection with a generational change, he became an investor and acquired 25% of the shares. In 2010, he joined the Board of Directors, and in 2015, together with Erling Boller, he took over ownership of the company with an equal distribution of shares (50/50).

Over the years, Nils has had a major impact on DAN-doors' development and growth. His commitment and vision to transform DAN-doors from a traditional manufacturing company to an innovative knowledge company with a focus on intelligent solutions and unique advice has helped create the strong brand that DAN-doors is known for worldwide today.

Nils had a deep understanding of market needs and an ability to see the potential in niche businesses. He understood the importance of sustainability and long-term thinking and was a champion of solutions that were not only financially beneficial, but also resource and environmentally friendly. Today, this set of values is the idea behind our business.

Despite health challenges, Nils participated in DAN-doors' 40th anniversary in May 2023, which speaks volumes about his commitment to the company.

A small memorial service has been held for Nils, where we remembered a good person who has touched and inspired us all.

At DAN-doors , he will be missed, but never forgotten.
