Fire doors for freezer rooms

Freezer fire doors - safe, insulated and CE approved
Description

Fire doors for cold rooms - what are they and why are they important?

Our freezer fire doors are designed to provide a very high level of fire protection while acting as a robust daily access door in freezer rooms with extremely low temperatures. They prevent the spread of fire and effectively retain the cold, so you get both maximum safety and optimal insulation in one solution that can be used every day.

In a cold room, goods, people and the operation of the building depend on the temperature remaining stable - even in an emergency. A freezer fire door ensures that a fire does not spread to other areas while minimizing cold loss. This not only protects inventory and food from spoilage, but also allows extra time for evacuation and firefighting. With a door that can be used on a daily basis while resisting both fire and frost, you get a solution that combines operational reliability, safety for people and protection of assets.

Fire doors for cold rooms - FAQ

1. What is a freezer fire door?
It is a CE-marked fire door tested and approved according to the European standard EN 13241. Because the door is insulated with 150 mm rock wool, it can be used down to +40° and protect against fire for the number of minutes it is approved for. At DAN-doors , you can get a fire door that is approved and certified up to 90 minutes according to the highest European standard.
2. What fire class can the door handle and what does it mean in practice?
DAN-doors has developed a single-leaf hinged EI₂60 fire door for cold rooms and a single-leaf hinged EI₂90 fire door for cold rooms. EI₂60 means that the door is tested and approved to resist fire for a minimum of 60 minutes, while EI₂90 can withstand up to 90 minutes. In practice, this means extra time to evacuate, extinguish fires and secure assets in the event of a fire. The high fire rating also means that the doors can meet even strict regulatory requirements and be used in cold rooms where fire safety is part of the overall risk management - for example in food production, logistics centers and industrial companies. With DAN-doors' solutions, you get both reliable daily access to the cold room and maximum protection in an emergency.
3. Approvals and testing - what do you need to know?
The doors have the highest European fire classification, EI. EI class fire doors have heat reduction on the opposite side and can therefore be used in places where people are present and there is a need to create safe evacuation options.
4. Why choose your freezer fire door?
The highest fire safety in a robust, stable and highly insulated door: DAN-doors' fire doors for freezer rooms are available with up to 90 minutes of fire resistance, which is unique on the market. The doors combine fire resistance with the ability to operate in freezer rooms with very low temperatures. They are equipped with heating wires in the frame, door leaf and lock case to prevent ice and condensation from forming and to ensure that the doors are fully functional in freezer temperatures. Maintenance and durability: Our fire doors have a self-closing function and lifting hinges that lift the door off the floor, making them easy to use and ensuring they retain their construction and stability for up to 30 years. Peace of mind and responsibility: As a builder, you can choose a CE-approved and certified solution without taking extra risk - unlike non-certified doors where you are liable for everything, including documentation and security.
