It's small. It's hidden. But it's important.

At Selected Car Leasing in Silkeborg, Denmark, they like to do things a little differently. As a dealer of exclusive, million-dollar cars, they want to differentiate themselves and create a unique customer experience.

When Selected Car Leasing moved into a newly renovated building in Silkeborg, Denmark, in March 2023, they pulled out all the stops to create a showroom that delivers the same wow factor as the exclusive cars on display.

Design elements in wood and concrete have been chosen to create a balance between calm and raw power, leaving nothing to chance. 

An important detail you don't want to see

The showroom features a spectacular slide that is beautifully integrated into a custom-designed piece of furniture that not only houses the slide, but also serves as a plant decoration and bench.

However, before the roller coaster could gain approval from the fire authorities, creative thinking was required to ensure the necessary fire safety, and our skilled team set about developing a bespoke fire solution that would protect against the spread of fire and toxic smoke between floors in the event of a fire.

The result is a small, purpose-built fire sliding door. It's small - only 1 x 1 meter - and it's so discreetly integrated into the furniture with the slide that you have to know it's there to spot it. But it's important, because without it, there's no approval from the fire authorities.

The slide was approved by the fire authorities and Selected Car Leasing is thrilled that they succeeded, as both the furniture and the slide were important in creating the exclusivity and uniqueness they wanted for their showroom.

High fire safety in a stylish design

In addition to the small fire sliding door for the roller coaster, DAN-doors has also supplied fire curtains for various locations in the building, and it was an important parameter for Selected Car Leasing that they could be integrated discreetly so that the architecture was not disturbed by necessary - but often clumsy - fire solutions.

The fire curtain systems are therefore matched to the rest of the interior and painted in the same matte black color. This detail ensures that visitors stay focused on the cars and remain in the experience that so much effort has been put into creating. The curtain itself is hidden away in the ceiling and will only close down if fire or smoke is detected.

This task required ingenuity and creativity - and, as always, a focus on the customer's needs and wishes.
